They say there's a course past the edge of town that only opens after dark. No tee times, no clubhouse, no scorecards. Just fog rolling over the fairways, a single cart light cutting through the trees, and the sound of a ball being struck somewhere out in the black.

Nobody gets lucky often at Haunted Hills. But every October, a pumpkin-headed regular named Jack-O'Laus pulls up in a beat-up cart, tees one up, and sends it screaming into the night. Locals swear they've seen the ball catch fire mid-flight. Fewer will tell you where it lands.
